      <description>PARLO (Proficiency-based Assessment and Reassessment of Learning Outcomes) is a research project funded by the National Science Foundation, investigating whether a new system of a proficiency-based, continuous assessment of learning leads to higher mathematics achievement, greater enrollment in challenging courses, and encourages students to stay in school.
